What is vermicompost?

Vermicompost is a type of organic fertiliser. It is produced by composting organic waste with various species of earthworms. It consists of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and, most significantly, worm castings. The process of creating Vermicompost is known as vermicomposting.


Are earthworms present in vermicompost?

Although earthworms are used to create vermicompost, the finished product contains no earthworms. However, it could include earthworm eggs. An ideal ready-to-use Vermicompost does not contain any adult earthworms.


How do I utilise vermicompost in pots?
